Our Story.
As a child I spent long, slow summers in the south of France with my grandparents immersed in their world of treasures. My grandfather was an antiques dealer and my grandmother was a collector of antique textiles - often adding vintage buttons or delicate touches to turn plain into a keepsake. Among these piles of odd rolls and scraps of fabrics, there was always a treasure waiting to be discovered - a floral napkin, a fragment of rose printed linen that spoke softly of another era. I remember keeping one particular small rose printed fabric tucked in my notebook for many years, captivated by its beauty. Those early days shaped everything I love: the romance of sun faded colours, the poetry of faded roses, soft linens, the craftsmanship hidden in old fabrics, and the feeling that textiles carry their own quiet history.
In London I spent many years trawling through the famous flea markets of Portobello, Bermondsey and Alfies, searching for original fabrics and keepsakes. Later, I found my calling in interior design and fashion, before moving on to start a busy family, and life asked me to briefly pause this dream.
The Faded Floral Co. grew naturally from this lifelong passion and is a continuation of that childhood enchantment. Every design I create - every apron, napkin or printed fabric is a small love letter to those summers in France. Each piece is inspired by those early memories and beautifully made here in the UK - simple, nostalgic and full of the gentle romance, using my own hand drawn prints inspired by 18th and 19th century English and French textiles.
My hope is that each piece brings a little gentleness, romance and everyday beauty into your home. The kind that feels lived in, cherished and quietly magical.
Thank you for being here.
Cécile.
